What do people want out of life?
After 257 interviews, I can confidently say that we have found answers to this question.
While everyone is unique and wants something different, there are some common denominators.
This blog post is about understanding the most common desires people have in life.
So, keep reading, get inspired, see if there’s anything you’ve been overlooking for yourself.
You never know, seeing someone else’s dream may help you to learn about and to realize your own dreams!
Let’s first get a clear understanding of what the top priorities are for most people.
What If You Could Only Make One Wish?
What would you want if a genie appeared and offered you one wish?
The most common response (99%) is “Money!” followed by a large number.
Money, on the other hand, is transient.
You won’t be happy until you spend money on things that are important to you, and it won’t help you unless you do.
Which brings us back to the beginning.
What do you truly desire from life?
It appears to be a simple question, but it isn’t for most of us.
According to recent statistics, only 5% of people know what they want from life.
Why is it so hard to answer this question?
The answer lies in our unconscious mind — the part of us that holds all the secrets, dreams, and desires we’ve kept hidden away since childhood.
Fortunately, a lot of brainstorming can help — especially when prompted by outside sources and ideas.
That’s why, based on years of interviews with women and men of all ages, I’ve compiled a list of things other people want in life.
Wanting what others want is a common mistake, especially when it comes to things like happiness or success. But perhaps reading through these various responses from interviews and other sources will spark some new ideas for you.
That’s the purpose of this blog post.
- When coming up with ideas, keep in mind that no idea is too big for someone with boundless potential.
- You do not have the same problems that others do.
- You have the freedom to work whenever and wherever you want, and your earning potential is limitless.
“The most difficult problem for most people is deciding what they want and then going after it.”
If you’re not sure what you want out of life, the question “What do you want?” might be a good place to start.
If the answer to that question leaves you perplexed, you can at least get your goal-oriented juices flowing by looking at the list below.
I’d appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to go over this list before you begin. Make a list of items that are important to you and that you will want once your ordeal is over.
Goal-setting is a process that necessitates deliberate thought.
It’s easy to put something off until later, but you’re more likely to never finish it.
The rule is: Do it right now.
Just keep in mind that if you put in some time and effort, the payoff could be substantial in terms of your future lifestyle, work, and money.

What Do You Really Want Out Of Life?
You can begin by considering the things that are most important to you as a result of reading the above-mentioned goals. Take note of which objectives remain in your mind over the next few days or weeks. Then consider which of those objectives complements the things that make you the happiest in life.
Write down any new goals you set for yourself
Don’t rule anything out, especially if your first reaction is that it’s too difficult.
That is the splendor of your life. Nothing is impossible when you can control and materialize your desires with a keyboard from anywhere and at any time.
Remember to think big and ask for what you truly desire
Consider what gives you the most pleasure and fulfillment in life, and then break them down into specifics. For example, perhaps providing for your loved ones makes you extremely happy.
Expand on that by considering what you want to offer:
- Do you want your kids to go to a private school?
- Make enough money to keep your spouse from having to work?
- Why not take the kids or grandkids on an African safari?
- Pay for an elderly parent’s care?
Work Backwards: What Do I Want Out Of Life
Once you’ve decided what you want, work your way back and create a plan on how you’ll get there. It’s important to set realistic goals and expectations that are measurable. Make sure your plans are specific and include steps you must take to make them happen.
For example, if you want to pay for your kids’ tuition at an expensive private school, then determine what it will cost and figure out how you’ll make up the difference. Create a timeline of when tuition payments are due and decide if you need to increase your income from a part-time job or get a raise at work.
If taking an African safari is on your list, research the cost of airfare, lodging, rentals, food, and other expenses.
- Think about everything that will be required to obtain it.
- Think about how much time you have to devote to that goal.
- Finally, consider what kinds of projects would be interesting enough to keep you motivated to reach your goal.
Your goal is to find a business or income source that both pays your bills and feeds your soul.
It should be something that provides value – not something vague such as increasing the value of your crypto investments.
If you’re lucky, the same solution will complete both tasks.
